Every now and then a racing game comes along that just hooks a massive fan base. Whether it's due to amazing graphics or realistic feelings, the leading name in games revolving around cars these days however, Is Forza. While Forza is usually known for it's amazing tracks and being able to work on hundreds of cars in ways unimaginable in other games, The franchise took an awkward but astonishing tun by releasing their first Free Roam Massive Multiplayer game, Forza Horizon, and with it came the modern staple in video game racing.
Forza Horizon sets players in central Colorado, driving in a massive open world through vast open farm lands and The dangerous roads of the Rocky Mountains. But what sets it apart is how free you feel when playing. The open world Game play allows you to race Where ever and when ever you want, whether its rally, street style, or even their variety of fun casual came modes. The bottom line is you always have something to do. If you're not racing, maybe you're enjoying the amazing scenery around the massive map. Or maybe you're spending in game credits on customizing your favorite cars to fit the racing style want them for, or maybe giving them a nice Hello Kitty paint job to make your buddies laugh. Seriously, what's funnier then a Hello Kitty paint job on a Ford Raptor?
The Realistic feel of the game is great for any car fan. The looks of the cars are breath taking and the paint jobs only make them better. The ability to customize almost every aspect of you cars is also a major perk. While I don't mean to repeat myself, it's just comforting to reassure that not only will the game play have you spending hours playing, but the 3 Radio Stations and they're 6 song playlist, while seeming short, are an absolute blast to race and just listen to.
The online aspect of the game is highly competitive and I don't suggest anyone play any playlist but the "pure skill" which gives every player the game car, or try out the fun casual modes like infected or cat and mouse. To be honest, the high competitive attitude of players online makes it VERY difficult for new players to get a hold for the online scene.
So, there it is. After hours nonstop of working on my car in game, racing with friends, enemies, and random people, I can happily say that Forza: Horizon is not only the best racing/car themed game I've ever played, but I'm 100% sure that anyone who picks up this 8/10 classic will get nothing but enjoyment out of it! So rev yourself up, and go check it out!
